Success Academy Charter Schools prepares scholars to succeed in college and in life. Exploration, creativity, and curiosity abound in our classrooms and inspire a love of learning in scholars. Their rigorous and innovative curriculum provides an unparalleled, free, public education to children across New York City. I was the lead creative designer on this project – designing most of the pages for both desktop and mobile. Created at Makeable LLC.
I worked on both the visual and UX side to create the newly launched Amazon Local app. I wanted to create a user friendly application that would allow Amazon customers to easily view and purchase daily deals in their area. The app features an organized list view filtered by the user’s deal preferences, a deal page that includes location and details, a vouchers page that allows the customer easy access to their vouchers, and a settings page for any other customization the user might need or want. The splash page features a photo from a shoot that I art directed.
CLEAR is the fastest and most predictable way to get through airport security. I worked on the concepting for the site and created many of the featured graphics. Created at Makeable LLC.
In today’s virtual world people have found ways to connect with each other through various digital platforms and social networks. Those who have problems communicating verbally can now connect visually with like minded peers. However, this form of communication is double–sided, by simultaneously connect–ing people within an artificial reality, they become disconnected from the present reality. Currently, there are a variety of applications that use global positioning systems to connect people in an urban environment. Seek believes that while the provided technology is valuable to the user that these types of applications are invasive in nature. These products allow users to instantly access people and places, while pinpointing their exact location. The intent of the product is to bring the information to the user—requiring little or no effort. Products using GPS not only center around tracking people, but also infer a certain behavior, creating an image that the user of the product may conform to. SEEK aims to change this.
Unlike other connection products and networks, SEEK’s mission is to utilize digital platforms to connect people to each other in a meaningful way and not to separate them from their present surroundings. SEEK is a service that archives the user’s experience in a location, while connecting them to people in their neighborhood. SEEK’s goal is to promote the content of the environment in which people live, while retaining a strong focus on the importance of interaction in the digital age.
SEEK believes that digital platforms should connect people to each other, while not separating them from their environment. Products promoting the accessibility of information and people should not be an intrusion into their personal lives, but should promote the content of the environment in which they live. It is important to use digital platforms to preserve the past and create valuable databases for future generations to share and utilize.
SEEK is more then a social network that provides a service, we are part of a movement that is dedicated to preserving the experience of the city in which you live. SEEK believes that an integral part of the user’s relationship with a place is the ability to not only learn more about the location’s past, but also create and store memories for future generations. Along with connecting you to other users in an exclusive network, we also hope to develop a system that will create a visual and audio landscape for your city. Archiving your memories, experiences, and more. Unlike other networks that allow you to share visual and audio information, we want to motivate the user to physically visit the location. Although technology is an invaluable resource SEEK believes that it has created a harmful separation between people and their present environment. We seek to bridge the disconnect while allowing users to share media and discover the beauty of their surroundings.Social networks that use digital platforms to connect people rely on the steady stream of information that you provide them. These networks then use this information for profit. We believe that the information you upload and access while using our network should belong to you and your network not to the outside conglomerates. SEEK is about experience and connecting with people in your environment. We have no intent on redistributing your information.
HOW IT WORKS
Currently, hot spot locations are popping up all over the Seattle area. Each participating location is marked with the SEEK insignia. Simply go to the location and stand within proximity to the SEEK symbol. Using wifi hot spots, we have created a storage system at the location itself. It is important to us that you have to physically go to and interact with the places and people in your environment. This is an exclusive network that allows you to share with people in your network to discover when they visit the location. SEEK encourages you to also make selected information public to add to the rich audio and visual texture of the city.
